Although the Hurricane Season doesn't begin until June 1 and runs through November 30, it is never too early to prepare for Hurricane Season. Hurricanes have been known to develop as early as May and as late as December.
Hurricanes and Tropical Storms possess devastating effects in term of loss of life and destruction to property. Be prepared for the eventuality of a hurricane coming ashore in the Mayport area.
STAY INFORMED. We will do our best to keep Naval Station Mayport aware of pending hurricane conditions. Please visit Naval Station Mayport's FaceBook page for current updates. However, local news stations will have the latest information concerning news and weather reports.
Be safe. Be prepared. Take the necessary steps now. Do not wait until a hurricane condition to plan a course of action.
