Air Quality Monitoring for Ozone

An Ozone monitor has been installed in Kennewick; there will now be two monitors shown on Ecology's Monitoring web page. In Kennewick, the eastern "dot" shows PM10 and PM2.5; the western dot shows Ozone.  The dial to the left shows PM10 and PM2.5

These pollutants are independenly monitored and reported through the Air Quality Index; so the monitors colors may be different.

They can be seen together at AIr Now.; along with air quality information for the entire US.

The Department of Ecology is working with Washington State University and Benton Clean Air to do additional monitoring for ozone and precursors of ozone during the summer of 2016.  A news release on this study is here.
