Wind Erosion Equation (WEQ) is a summary of wind erosion science and research by Agriculture Research Service and Land Grant Universities across the United States for over 30 years. WEQ was initially used as a model by NRCS to provide wind erosion estimates for benchmark and alternative cropland conservation systems.
WEPS is now used by NRCS for work with Wind Erosion and WEQ is no longer actively supported by USDA-NRCS for conservation planning. Much of the historical wind erosion science and concepts that supported WEQ, continue to be applied in the process-based models of today such as WEPS.
