Assessing the Vulnerability of Fish Stocks in a Changing Climate
NOAA Fisheries, in collaboration with the NOAA Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research - "Earth System Research Laboratory, is finalizing a methodology to rapidly assess the vulnerability of U.S. marine stocks to climate change. The methodology uses existing information on climate and ocean conditions, species distributions, and species life history characteristics to estimate the relative vulnerability of fish stocks to potential changes in climate.
Sea Grant Resilience Toolkit
The Sea Grant Resilience Toolkit represents a compilation of tools and resources that been developed by the Sea Grant Network to help communities become more resilient. Sea Grant programs are spread across diverse communities and specialize in developing tools that are tailored to local needs. This portal allows people to learn about tools from across the entire network, giving users the opportunity to adapt tools for their own local needs. The U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit provides scientific tools, information, and expertise to help people understand and manage their climate-related risks and opportunities, and improve their resilience to extreme events. The site is designed to serve interested citizens, communities, businesses, resource managers, planners, and policy leaders at all levels of government, and across many different topic areas. The 'Marine' topic was added in August 2016 and provides direct links to tools and case studies relevant to addressing climate-related impacts on Living Marine Resources, Fisheries and Coastal Communities, Habitats, Ocean Conditions, and Aquaculture.
