Welcome
Welcome to the Radon portion of CRCPD.org. Our website includes links to Radon related publications, organizations and individuals trying to make a difference by educating the public about this radiation hazard.
What is Radon?
Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that emanates from the soil worldwide. It can concentrate in the home, and if breathed for a prolonged period of time, can cause lung cancer. In fact, the Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. Only smoking causes more lung cancer deaths.
Who's making a difference?
CRCPD is working in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the American Association of Radon Scientists & Technologists (AARST) to help reduce the public's exposure to radon. For more, go to the "Radon Leaders Saving Lives" web portal.
