Global building material manufacturer to open a facility in Joplin, Gov. Nixon announces
Gov. Jay Nixon today joined local leaders and company executives from Ohio-based Owens Corning to announce the company’s plan to open a manufacturing facility in Joplin. The nearly $90 million project is expected to create more than 100 jobs.

At Cameron Veterans’ Home, Gov. Nixon signs several bills to help or honor veterans and military members.
Speaking at one of the state’s seven homes for military veterans, Gov. Jay Nixon today signed several bills that will help or honor Missouri military veterans and those Missourians currently serving in the armed forces. The Governor was joined at the event by veterans and veterans’ groups.

Gov. Jay Nixon today visited the St. Joseph Youth Alliance in Buchanan County to sign legislation better protecting Missouri children from abuse, promoting safe sleep practices at daycares, and increasing parents’ access to information regarding communicable disease prevention.
