Create maps

A Portal for ArcGIS map is a basemap and a related set of layers that users can interact with to perform a meaningful task. These maps are available to a wide audience and include multiscale basemaps, operational layers targeted to a specific audience, and information pop-ups that allow users to drill into specific features they are interested in. They also support visualization, editing, analysis, and time. They are the basis of web apps and can be viewed on a wide variety of clients, including mobile devices, desktop applications, and web browsers. Learn more.

Create scenes

Create interactive scenes with the built-in scene viewer. A scene is symbolized geospatial content that includes a multiscale basemap, a collection of 2D and 3D layers, styles, and configurations that allow you to visualize and analyze geographic information in an intuitive and interactive 3D environment. Learn more.

Create apps

Apps combine maps with text, multimedia, and interactive functions to inform, educate, entertain, and inspire people about a wide variety of topics. You create apps by building and refining maps and groups in your portal and incorporating them into templates. Esri templates, such as the story map templates, include builder functions that enable you to create, modify, edit, and publish apps without needing specialized development skills. Learn more.

Set map and layer properties

Setting properties can help highlight the important information and improve the overall appearance of your map. For example, you can set the visibility range, filter edits, and change the imagery display. Learn more.
