Change your photo's license in Flickr

Licenses control how others use your photos. You can restrict others' usage or open it up to them. Flickr gives you a variety of options to choose from.

Manage your photos' licenses

From a computer, change the type of license applied to your photos as often as you like.

One photo at a time

  1. Click on your photo to open it.
  2. Below the "Taken" date, click on the currently applied license.
  3. Select your desired license type to apply it.

Multiple photos at once

  1. Mouse over You | select Camera Roll.
  2. Select the photos you want to change.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Select your new license from the "Copyright protection level" menu.
  5. Click Save.

Default license applied to new uploads

Your default license settings only apply to new photos you upload.

  1. Click your Buddy icon.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click the Privacy & Permissions tab.
  4. Click Edit beside "What license will your content have."
  5. Select your new license, then click Set Default License.
