As we learned a few days ago, SantaCon will be kicking off in McCarren Park this Saturday morning. Thankfully Gothamist has obtained the maps of the day’s official drinking locations so we can know where to avoid. The Williamsburg map (above) includes Verboten, Viva Toro, The Hall (at MP Taverna) and Villan. No doubt there will be plenty of other establishments around these locations filled with drunk Santas as well. Here’s the description of the day from the NY Times:
They will meet at 10 a.m. at McCarren Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Beginning at 11, they will host parties at the nearby clubs Verboten and the Hall. Midday, they will go to the Delancey and the DL on the Lower East Side. In the late afternoon, they will travel to the East Village, where there will be events at Solas, Bar 13 and at 230 Fifth, near Madison Square Park. For a $10 donation, participants can get into all the SantaCon-sponsored parties, where they pay for their drinks.

How do we prevent this from happening again next year? I heard they got pushed out of bushwick because the community rallied against it. Can we organize to create a Bedford Avenue Sanity Alliance or something? Serenity Now Williamsburg?
