The Department of Natural Resources emergency management officer is responsible for coordinating DNR activities in response, recovery and mitigation of natural or human made disasters or emergency situations, such as floods, high winds, wildfires, dam outages, spills and disruption of services.
The department's duty officers are responsible for maintaining the operational coordination of the department after regular business hours during an emergency situation. Duty officers consist of agency staff from the Dam Safety, Drinking and Groundwater, Forestry, Law Enforcement and Remediation and Redevelopemnt programs.
