Seems Faulty and Sensitive
I find myself using this a lot more over the past few months, but the "updated" version has me bothered.
I can type with no issues via text or Kik or anything else. I find the keyboard functionality to be finicky. Everytime I try to hit send in a natural progression from typing to sending, it's so sensitive that it thinks I'm scrolling upwards and opens up some pointless screen. Then when it does, it's slow to open up and subsequently close back down.
I dislike how small the typing area gets after a very short period of time. Much of the "fun" functionalities are pointless and impractical. Some of the icon designs don't seem to do what you would think they would do just looking at them. I've also been told by people I'm talking with that they weren't online even if it says they were active. At least 2 people have shown "active" a certain number of minutes before, then tell me that they haven't been on in hours. I'm not sure if it's true, but I can fathom it at the very least with all of the other things that seem to be wrong with it.
Oh, and my least favorite and most annoying part...every time I close it out then open it back up, it goes to the "let's get started" screen like I've never once opened it before even if I had it open 5 minutes before. When it does that, it shows "unread" messages from YEARS past that I've read and reviewed long, long ago, but get marked as unread somehow.

It gets a lot of bad reviews but...
This app tends to get a lot of bad reviews from people crying about it not being part of the FB app.
From a programmer's point of view this was the only way to make the app run smoother. FB itself takes a lot of the phone's resources, and without the messenger app inside of it, it still can be slow (you ever read an article that has a ton of pictures and ads just to have it crash after hitting next 10 times?)
Plus the different "plugins" that can be utilized across various apps on your phone. This wouldn't be as achievable if it was all rolled into one.
Right now, smart phones aren't at a place power wise where they can handle all of that. And limitations from Apple with 3rd party access to the different APIs limits what can and can't be done in a single app. I'd rather have a separate app with integration across my OS, that runs smoother, and has a bunch of new features and functions.
All the complainers should really stop and think that maybe there is a reason it's a separate app. Something that is beyond the concept of their knowledge.
This app is good. I use it more than iMessage at times. It's the actual FB app that needs work.

First Off
Thumbs up on this app it's quite easy to use the only downfall this app has is the video quality, online friends section and the emoji well lets get down to it the downfall of the online friends section is that you can not view the rest of your friends or there is no button to scroll through all your online friends which makes it difficult and the emoji section also kinda needs a bug fix because I have downloaded a lot of the emojis but every time I sign in to my account it says I need to download again so that sums it up best of all five stars...
