Young people have tremendous capacity, as individuals and as a community, to learn about and contribute to global peacebuilding. In this session, participants will discover how teaching the concepts and skills of peacebuilding helps prepare young people to be active global citizens. Participants will be introduced to resources from the Global Peacebuilding Center at the U.S. Institute of Peace, including best practices to help them incorporate international conflict management and peacebuilding themes and skills into their classrooms. They will discover activities that encourage students to think critically about the world around them and their place in it, and that focus on developing an appreciation for multiple perspectives and other practical peacebuilding skills. Participants will be directed to additional online resources to engage students in building peace in their own communities and around the world.
