The maps are for Concord, Riesling, and Cabernet Franc grapes. The Modeled Hardiness Temperature map provides daily estimates of the temperature below which grape buds are damaged by freezing. The Bud Injury Potential map compares the hardiness temperature to the actual air temperature then estimates the likelihood of bud damage. The bottom left plot shows the modeled hardiness temperature compared to the observed temperature at Geneva, NY. The Lowest Temperature map shows the coldest observed temperature since July 1. These maps are produced from mid-October through the end of June and are updated three times a day around 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
