#RiceAlumni: Elizabeth Baird Saenger ’64 has dedicated much of her life to fighting for others' civil rights.

In the early 1970s, Saenger volunteered with a group that had established a fund to provide bail to release people from the Westchester County Jail in New York. More than 40 years ago, Saenger and her husband Joseph Clifford established a house in Mount Vernon, New York as the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester.

Saturday was a great day for Rice Athletics with three wins in football and basketball!

🏈 Rice Football shut-out No. 15-ranked Marshall 20-0 in their first victory over a ranked opponent since 1997.

🏀 Rice Women's Basketball delivered an 81-72 victory on the road at Texas Tech, and Rice Basketball is 4-0 for the first time in nine years with their 81-62 victory against Houston Baptist.
