Average date of the first inch of snow, along with the earliest and latest dates, for some Northeast sites.
As of October 21 the growing season has ended in most of the Northeast and parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and New England even had measurable snow recently. Here is a table showing snow statistics for selected cities in the region. The two cities with no date for the latest first inch of snow had no snowfall of an inch or greater three times in their climatological history, the most recent being the winter of 1997-98.
