Wet conditions were common during March.
March 2011 was an active month, weatherwise, with many challenges for the forecasters in the Northeast. After four record-breaking rain/snow events, March was wetter than normal on average in all but a few areas along the coast and Lake Ontario shoreline. Drought concerns present in parts of the region on March 1, were mostly gone by month’s end.
