Temperatures have been above normal during the first half of summer.
Halfway through meteorological summer, temperatures at all 35 Northeast airport climate sites were above normal. In fact, 21 sites ranked the first half of summer 2014 among their top 20 warmest. The first half of July has also been warmer than normal for most of the climate sites, with the warmest areas in New England.
Much of the region has seen above-normal rainfall so far this summer.
Twenty-nine airport climate sites have been wetter than normal during the first half of meteorological summer, with 15 ranking it among their top 20 wettest. As for July so far, most climate sites have been wetter than normal, with several seeing more than double normal precipitation.
