Several sites have seen more snowy days than usual.
Persistent snow storms and cooler than normal temperatures have kept many cities in the Northeast under a blanket of snow in 2011. As shown above, Bridgeport, CT, Central Park, NY and Portland, ME have broken or tied their record for the greatest number of days with at least 1 inch of snow on the ground from Jan 1st - Feb 21st. The warm-up on February 18th -19th left some of these cities with bare ground, but that was short-lived, as new snow on the 20th-21st whitened the ground once again.
