CICS-MD is located in M-Square, the University of Maryland Research Park. M-Square is a public-private partnership between Corporate Office Properties Trust and the University of Maryland. CICS-MD is co-located with the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction, which houses the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Office of Research and Applications and Satellite Services Division, and the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Air Resources Laboratory.
The M-Square Research Park is approximately two miles east of the main University of Maryland College Park campus and adjacent to the College Park-UMD Metro and the College Park MARC Commuter Rail stations. It is also served by the UMCP Department of Transportation Shuttle-Bus "River Road 109," from the College Park Metro Station. There is ample free-parking at M-Square for ESSIC visitors.
