    Tornado and hail reports in the SRCC region in 2016: AR - 23, 94; La - 31, 110; MS - 67, 167; OK - 55, 315; TN - 11, 74; TX - 90, 830.

    In the 80s there were 27 $1 billion dollar weather disasters; 90s - 48, 2000s - 54, 2010s so far, 74. TX has been especially hard hit.

    In 2016, there were 15 weather disaster events that caused more than $1 billion in damages; unfortunately, several were in the SRCC region.

    According to the CPC, there is a good chance that January will be drier and warmer than normal across the SRCC region.

    In Nov, avg temps were several degrees above normal in the SRCC region; prcp was below normal with the exception of central and western TX.

    The 2016 Atlantic hurricane season came to a close Nov 30th with 15 named storms, 7 hurricns & 3 major hurricns; above avgs of 12, 6, & 3.
