The entire Northeast region is having a below normal start to the snow season. This is especially evident in lake effect-prone areas.

Several sites will move into the top three if they don’t receive an inch by Christmas. Caribou is the only one of the 35 Northeast airport climate sites that has seen a one inch snowfall this season, ranking as the 7th latest.

The NOAA, Climate Prediction Center’s outlook for December shows increased chances for above normal temperatures for the entire northeast US. This is likely to keep snow totals in the region below normal through the month.
