Grants

The NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office typically issues grants and cooperative agreements in the following programs:

B-WET Chesapeake (Bay Watershed Education and Training) is a competitively based program that supports existing environmental education programs, fosters the growth of new programs, and encourages the development of partnerships among environmental education programs throughout the entire Chesapeake Bay watershed. Projects support organizations that provide students with a Meaningful Watershed Education Experience (MWEE) or related professional development opportunities for teachers.

The Office's Fisheries Science Program is a competitive grant program that supports research that addresses various aspects of Chesapeake Bay fisheries management. Funded projects improve knowledge and understanding of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem by providing biological information and life history characteristics for many individual Chesapeake Bay fisheries stocks and by broadening the multispecies knowledge base for development of fisheries ecosystem planning.
