Website Accessibility Statement for the Global Peacebuilding Center

The United States Institute of Peace wishes the website of the Global Peacebuilding Center to be accessible to all users. We have tried to ensure that major parts of the website comply with Section 508 and W3C guidelines. The site has been tested using screen readers and outside Web tools, and users with disabilities have been part of the external review and testing of the site. We welcome user suggestions for improvement of the site and its accessibility.

At present, the website:

  • Has descriptive text for images (alt tags).
  • Can be successfully read by screen readers.
  • Can be read and navigated by text-only browsers.

Internet Explorer and Netscape allow users to adjust the size of the text, the font, the background color, and/or graphics. Other browsers offer similar ways to customize the browsing experience. Please see the Help menu on your browser for instructions.

This site uses the Portable Document Format (PDF) file format for some content. PDF files may require free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. Screen-reading devices may not be able to access information in PDF files. Visit the Adobe Reader accessibility page for more information on accessing PDF documents.

If you are a person with a disability and are having trouble accessing content on our website, please email webmaster@buildingpeace.org.
