Economics

The Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) serves as USDA’s focal point for economic and policy-related research and analyses.  In pa/rticular, research and analyses on the commodity outlook for U.S. and world agriculture are coordinated by OCE through the World Agricultural Outlook Board (WAOB --- link). In addition OCE coordinates, reviews, and approves economic analysis of significant USDA and agriculturally related policies of the Federal government.  Those include primary analyses of Farm Bill programs, trade policies, labor polices, regulations, and other economic-orientated issues surrounding U.S. agricultural production and trade.
