2015 FEMA.gov Redesign

Launch: October 3, 2015

  • Made changes disaster declaration landing page.
  • Made changes to the left navigation.
  • Updated the photo captions look and feel.
  • Researched and update disaster declaration registration summary.
  • Made small changes to document and photo pages.
  • Worked on bug fixes and small formatting items.

  • Fixed unresponsive videos on asset pages.
  • Fixed navigation popup styling fix mobile vs desktop.
  • Indented mobile “In This Section” popup menu items.
  • Fixed navigation menu so its collapses.
  • Fixed table header layout on disaster declarations.
  • Corrected and updated disaster declaration menu.
  • Updated the home page layout.
  • Built new image rotator.
  • Added the authorized equipment list section.
  • Share button formatting.
  • 10+ other bug fixes, improvements, and formatting items.

  • Fixed numerous bugs.
  • Implemented back-end enhancements for content editors.
  • Applied security updates.
  • Added disaster declarations section navigation.

  • Added notification for mobile users to download the FEMA App.
  • Added "In This Section" 4th menu on mobile.
  • Made tables sortable / responsive.
  • Formated content to display properly on disaster declaration pages.
  • Fixed bugs.

Completed Items as of April 7, 2015

  • Displayed the page content front and center.
  • Built pages so they display on a tablet and phone.
  • Increased the font size and line spacing.
  • Use existing section headers as a table of contents for the page.
  • Consolidated and created one main navigation list.
  • Completed pages include: regular content pages, blog posts, and new releases.
  • Built using bootstrap -- this is a techie thing.
