How do you do that though? I mean, it's a slow process no matter what you do... Yo can't just do one initiative and rebuild that trust and connection between communities and police. That'll take a LONG time.

And it can't be entirely one sided either. I get that cops have gunned people down without reason and I am on board with those making that argument. But here's the thing - the trust has to work both ways. We have to be willing to trust the cops - but the cops also have to trust us.

I'd suggest that maybe ending the volume of gun violence in this country so that we don't have a constant worry that any random person might be the next mass shooter. That'd probably go a long way. Combine that with actually prosecuting cops that do wrong when they do and we might actually start a bit of that rebuilding.
