Group Picnic Shelters

Group Picnic Shelters

The Corps of Engineers manages several picnic areas on J. Percy Priest Lake.  At some of these scenic, relaxing areas, you will find group picnic shelters.  Seven of these shelters may be reserved (for a fee) up to 360 days in advance.  Reservations may be made through the National Recreation Reservation Service no less than four days before your picnic date.  When a shelter is not reserved, it is available on a first-come, first serve basis.  Shelters are available for reservation from early April until late October.

Items such as public address systems, dunking booths, pony rides, inflatable play areas, and other amusements additions are not allowed. Activities other than normal picnicking activities must be approved by the Resource Manager and may require a Special Events permit. The day use areas, which include the launch ramp, close at 7 p.m. from April through October.

To reserve a shelter, please click on the name of a recreation area or call the National Recreation Reservation Service at 1-877-444-6777.

Note: East Fork picnic shelters can not be reserved.
