Books to Brushes: Strengthening Literacy Through Art

Release your inner artist this Black History Month! "Books to Brushes" couples participatory reading activities with instructor-led painting sessions. In honor of Black History Month, children will read and discuss a black history related book and paint a picture inspired by it. The session will be led by founder and teaching artist, Anike Robinson. Ms. Robinson is a Washington, D.C. based interdisciplinary artist with a master's degree in secondary education. She uses art as a means to support literacy in the classroom for grades K-12.
