IMAGES: Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM)
The GOES-R Series GLM instrument is an optical transient detector and imager that can detect and map total lightning activity over the Americas and adjacent ocean regions. GLM will provide early predictions of intensifying storms and severe weather events.
