SPRING BLACK BEAR HUNT APPLICATIONS
Spring Black Bear Hunt Applications Due March 10, 2011 Spring Black Bear Hunt Applications Due February 28, 2013
Hunters may now purchase and submit applications for a 2013 spring black bear hunting permit, applicable to specific areas of western and eastern Washington. To be eligible for a permit, hunters must possess a valid big game hunting license which includes black bear as a species option and must purchase and submit a spring bear application to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife by midnight February 28.

MULTIPLE-SEASON PERMIT HUNT APPLICATIONS
Multiple-season permit hunt applications due by March 31 Hunters have until March 31 to apply for multiple-season permits
Deer and elk hunters have until March 31 to enter their name in a drawing for a 2013 multiple-season permit, which can greatly increase their opportunities for success in the field. Learn more >>

Sporadic reports of lame elk or elk with overgrown or missing hooves have been received in southwest Washington since the mid 1990’s. Reports of this “hoof disease” have been increasing and hunters have regularly seen and sometimes harvested an elk with this condition.

Cougar hunts in several areas of the state will close at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 15 after harvest guidelines for the animals were reached in those areas, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) announced today. Learn more >>
