Great to be on hand this evening as State Farm announced a grant of nearly $100,000 in support of a state of the art aquaponics lab at Interboro High School. It's a great example of the ways we can better educate kids for the jobs of the modern economy by partnering the private sector with our schools.

Met with seniors today to discuss legislation I’m championing that makes Medicare work better for seniors. The bill gives seniors access to educational resources to help them better understand their Medicare eligibility and avoid penalties for late enrollment. I was joined by a few of my constituents who have personally faced the complexity of the maze of Medicare enrollment deadlines and regulations.

Saddened to hear of John's passing. His advocacy opened my eyes to some of the challenges facing many navy veterans of the Vietnam War and led me to co-sponsor the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act.

Read the Obituary and view the Guest Book, leave condolences or send flowers. | John J. Bury, age 80, of Media, PA, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. John received his associate’s degree from Delaware County Community College.

One of the great pleasures of this job: calling students last night to inform them that they'll be receiving one of my primary nominations to our nation's uniformed service academies.

Today is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day -- take a moment to learn more about trafficking in our own region, learn to spot the signs of trafficking and how victims can get help by visiting the National Human Trafficking Hotline's website.

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery. This crime occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against his/her will.

Thank you to all who applied to receive tickets to next week’s Presidential Inauguration. Each Congressional office received a limited number of tickets for the Swearing-In Ceremony, and due to overwhelming demand a lottery system was instituted to fairly allocate those tickets. The lottery process is now complete and each ticket recipient has been contacted directly by my staff. No more tickets will be available through our office.

Additional information regarding the Inaugural events and committees can be found at http://www.inaugural.senate.gov/. Thank you again for your interest in being a part of the 58th Presidential Inauguration on Friday, January 20, 2017.

Overwhelming bipartisan vote tonight against the anti-Israel U.N. Security Council resolution passed late last month. The U.N.'s move wasn't just anti-Israel -- it made the prospect of peace in the region less obtainable. Tonight's vote shows that despite President Obama's eleventh hour abandonment, Congress' support for the U.S.-Israel alliance is as strong as ever.

House lawmakers on Thursday voted overwhelmingly to condemn the United Nations Security Council resolution targeting Israeli settlement construction, in a pointed rebuke of President Obama and the international community. Do not be fooled, House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a rare floor speech. This UN...

Thank you to all who contacted me regarding proposed changes to the Office of Congressional Ethics. I opposed these changes when they were brought up for a vote among members of the House Republican Conference on Monday. And I’m pleased to report that these changes ultimately were not included in the rules package that Congress passed yesterday.

I’ve also opposed efforts in the past to eliminate or reduce funding for the Office of Congressional Ethics.

Pennsylvania families ...deserve to know that their elected officials are serving them honorably and ethically. As a prosecutor, I worked hard to protect the public trust by cracking down on corruption in politics.

Today, I have the privilege of serving on the House Ethics Committee, where I’m working to hold my fellow lawmakers to rigorous standards and ensure Members of Congress and staff that commit wrongdoing are held accountable.

Thank you again for contacting me on this issue.

  • What was your response in 2013 when the republicans skipped Obama's inauguration? #IllWait
  • No, Rep.Meehan, the people have not spoken. Women in PA are just be...ginning to speak. We will not continue to be under the thumb of a bunch of old white men. Every one of the cabinet picks are something from a clown car. You don't take the American people seriously. Your party is about to dismantle Medicare and Social Security, and when that happens, be prepared for the majority of the American people to be all over you like ants at a picnic. You do not have a mandate. Most Americans voted for Hillary,so don't get carried away with yourself. See More
  • House Resolution 30 IS A BI-PARTISAN ISSUE. This resolution was intr...oduced by Congressman Alcee Hastings (D-FL), and I believe it is incumbent upon the U.S. to keep its citizens healthy and safe from diseases as well as intervene on behalf of all the millions of defenseless dogs and cats who cannot speak for themselves. These are “Man’s Best Friends”! We have the moral responsibility as decent, humane citizens of the U.S.A. to do what is morally right, to be a voice for the voiceless as well as to keep Americans safe from deadly diseases. PLEASE PASS House Resolution 30 to end the suffering of dogs and cats in meat-eating industry which will, as outlined above by experts, keep Americans safe and healthy as well. I respectfully submit the following as evidence that clearly disproves China’s Government as stating that the Dog Meat Trade does NOT exists. This Torturous Dog and Cat Meat trade needs to be obliterated! This is no longer abroad, this is on our computer screens, around our dinner tables and talk of this nightmare on our school grounds in the U.S.A. because computers have linked us together forever! Stand up and do the right thing by your people and those worldwide including those millions of innocent, tortured, sentient, loyal dogs and cats. See More
