Special Activity Permit
Defined:
Special
Activities are defined as organized use of project resources which may occur
frequently or be recurring in nature. These typically require a greater amount
of management and oversight by the participants than normal recreation (i.e.
safety, environmental, security), but do not require additional U.S. Army,
Corps of Engineers (USACE) oversight.
They are smaller in scale than Special Events and to do not create the
same hindrance to the use of project resources by the public.
Determining
Factors: (These are items which may help the project
determine if you have a Special Activity.)
-
The event will impact the project beyond the normal use.
-
The event has a specific purpose but is limited in size and scope to an individual
or small group (i.e. special hunt, small fishing tournaments, baptisms, etc.)
-
Typically a recurring activity.
-
Does not require additional USACE support of oversight.
-
It is of shorter duration and would not be practical for a lease or
other agreement.
-
The event incorporates elements that may not otherwise be allowed by the
regulations in Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 327; thus requiring
Allatoona Lake Project Manager’s approval.
-
Any part of the activity is located outside of a licensed/leased area
(ie marina, City Park, lease facility) or any part of it takes place on the
waters of Allatoona Lake.
