Texas Environmental Excellence Awards

Recognizing and honoring the state's most outstanding waste reduction and pollution prevention projects.

Thank you everyone who submitted an application for a 2017 award!

We will announce the winners in Spring 2017 on Facebook Exit the TCEQ and TEEA.org Exit the TCEQ.

The Texas Environmental Excellence Awards (TEEA) Exit the TCEQ celebrate the efforts of citizens, communities, businesses, and organizations to preserve and protect the Texas environment. The public may nominate an individual, community, company, or organization for an award. They can also nominate themselves. To apply, go to <teea.org/apply> Exit the TCEQ during our submission period (generally, June through September) and complete one of our applications.

More about the Awards

Each year, the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards honor achievements in environmental preservation and protection. As the state's highest environmental honor, the Office of the Governor and TCEQ commissioners recognize outstanding projects from nine diverse categories:

  • Agriculture
  • Civic/Community
  • Education
  • Individual
  • Innovative Operations/Management
  • Pollution Prevention
  • Technical/Technology
  • Water Conservation
  • Youth

Since 1993, the TEEA program (funded by registration fees from the TCEQ Environmental Trade Fair and Conference) has honored over 200 successful environmental projects and efforts.

Recognition of Award Winners

The TCEQ will host a banquet on May 17, 2017, to honor the 2017 award winners. Held in Austin as part of the TCEQ Environmental Trade Fair and Conference, this celebration of environmental achievements is hosted by the commissioners of the TCEQ.
