The NAP Bookstore

The Bookstore of the National Academies carries a comprehensive selection of the National Academies Press and Joseph Henry Press publications as well as specialty gift items. Please call 202-334-2612 for title availability or any other questions pertaining to the bookstore.

We are located in the Academies' Keck Center at 500 5th Street, NW (between E and F streets) in downtown Washington, DC. Our building is easily recognizable by the large rotating sculpture above our entrance. Our neighborhood includes the National Building Museum, the MCI Center, Judiciary Square, the National Police Memorial, and the General Accounting Office and the Securities and Exchange Commission headquarter.

Directions by Metro

Red Line (a one block walk from the Judiciary Square Station)
Exit the Judiciary Square station via the "National Police Memorial/National Building Museum" escalator or via the elevator. You'll emerge facing the museum (monstrous brick building). Turn left along F Street and proceed a half block to 5th Street. The Keck Center is the modern building that is across 5th, diagonal and to your left. Enter the store via the building's main lobby.

Yellow, Green, and Red Lines (a three block walk from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Station)
Exit the Gallery Place/Chinatown Station via the 7th and F Streets/MCI Center escalator. Turn left on to the sidewalk along F Street and proceed two blocks to the 5th Street intersection. Turn right on 5th Street and proceed a half block to the Keck Center. Enter the store via the building's main lobby.
