The Omaha District is responsible Regulatory Permitting and Military construction across the state.
The Omaha District is lead district for USACE disaster response missions in South Dakota primrarily within the Missouri River Basin.
The Civli Works Mission for the much of South Dakota is led by the Omaha District. The St. Paul District leads the Civil Works Mission for the north eastern corner of South Dakota and provdes emergency response to flooding within the Red River of the North's watershed.
