Major Winter Storm Expected to Affect Plains by Midweek

A powerful storm system developing over the Rockies will move into the central U.S. on Wednesday, bringing heavy snow & strong winds to the central Plains. Snowfall in excess of a foot is expected across parts of Nebraska & Kansas through Thursday, with freezing rain possible for parts of the southern Plains into the mid & lower Mississippi Valley. Further to the south, severe weather is expected.
