1/13/2017: Youngs Creek Mining Company, LLC has requested authorization for the development, operation, and reclamation of the Youngs Creek Mine in Sheridan County, Wyoming as well as the construction of a road to facilitate movement of shared equipment, personnel and coal for blending purposes with sister entity, Spring Creek Mine in Big Horn County Montana. Future plans include the construction of a rail spur for direct market shipping of privately owned coal reserves from Youngs Creek Mine once sufficient production has been established.

2017 NWPs Issuance and Reissuance of all 50 nationwide permits (NWPs)

1/9/2017: On January 6, 2017, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published the notice in the Federal Register announcing the reissuance of all 50 existing nationwide permits (NWPs), general conditions, and definitions with some modifications. The Corps also issued two new NWPs, one new general condition, and five new definitions. The 2017 NWPs will go into effect on March 19, 2017, and will expire on March 18, 2022.

11/1/2016: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, (Corps) is evaluating a permit application for the Black Butte Copper Project, which would result in permanent and temporary impacts to approximately 0.95 acre of wetlands and approximately 770 linear feet of stream channel adjacent to Little Sheep Creek, waters of the United States. This notice is to inform interested parties of the proposed activity and to solicit comments.
