Tools for Planning

NOAA provides many tools that can assist with the planning, design, and siting of a living shoreline. These tools can help communities develop disaster response plans that include discussions on what kind of living shorelines would be appropriate. NOAA tools can also be used to plan for the impacts of sea level rise on a shoreline or fluctuating Great Lakes water levels, provide information about ecosystem services that can be considered in living shoreline design, and plan for a more resilient coast.
