The Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) has numerous responsibilities managing safe cleanup activities at the Portsmouth and Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant Sites. Our mission is to accomplish Environmental Remediation, Waste Management, Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride (DUF6) Conversion, and Decontamination and Decommissioning at the Sites. Our goal is to accelerate cleanup, eliminating potential environmental threats, reducing the DOE footprint, and reducing life-cycle cost.Additionally, DOE strives to make appropriate land and facilities available for future use, consistent with the local communities’ vision.
To accomplish these tasks, program management is essential to ensure the work is accomplished safely, efficiently, and in a financially responsible manner. The PPPO Office provides direction and oversight for thousands of contractor employees performing activities at our cleanup sites in Ohio and Kentucky. PPPO aims to maintain the highest level of transparency and collaboration with local stakeholders. Community engagement is crucial in forging this relationship, and we strive to provide timely updates and information to keep our local stakeholders informed and involved.
