Kazakhstan - Karachaganak

April 28, 2009 - CAO Ombudsman has transferred the third complaint regarding the Karachaganak Petroleum Operation B.V., Kazakhstan to CAO compliance for appraisal, as parties were unable to agree jointly on a process for resolving the issues. CAO Compliance closed its audit of IFC in relation to the first KPO complaint on April 24, 2009. Click here to view the final audit monitoring report.

CAO Civil Society Outreach - India

April 7-14 , 2009 - The CAO, in partnership with Meta-Culture Dialogics, a mediation/dispute resolution organizaton in Bangalore, convened three civil society outreach workshops in Delhi, Kolkata, and Bangalore respectively, April 2009. For more details, click here.

Indonesia - Wilmar

March 27, 2009 - CAO Ombudsman has released its Final Assessment Report for the complaint from communities in Kalimantan and Civil Society in relation to activities of the Wilmar Group. CAO Compliance issued revised Terms of Reference for its audit of IFC with regard to Wilmar on March 16.  Click here to view all related compliance documents.

Nicaragua - NSEL

March 6, 2009 -

CAO invites qualified, internationally credible organizations to submit proposals for an epidemiology scoping study to investigate the possible causes of chronic renal insufficiency in Nicaragua. Deadline for submissions is April 3, 2009. Click here to view the Terms of Reference.

Turkey - Standard Profil

February 3, 2009 - Parties confirmed that actions recommended by the CAO provide satisfactory resolution to this complaint. The CAO is working with IFC and Standart Profil to implement these actions and will continue to monitor the process.
