The following projects are located throughout the Omaha District's Civil Works area of responsibility including Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. Each project page contains information about the project including news stories, photos, documents, upcoming public meetings and project status.
Flood Risk Management
The purpose of a flood risk management project is to assist communities with reducing damages caused by flooding through the development of structural or nonstructural solutions.
Ecosystem Restoration
The purpose of an ecosystem restoration project is to restore historic habitat conditions to benefit fish and wildlife resources.
Reservoir Reallocation
The purpose of a reallocation project is to reallocate some portion of the storage in a Corps-owned reservoir from one purpose to another.
Surplus Water
The purpose of a surplus water project is to provide surplus water in the Missouri River mainstem reservoirs to municipal and industrial users on a temporary basis (less than 10 years).
Dam Safety
The purpose of a dam safety study is to identify dam safety issues at Corps-owned dams and determine the most cost-effective solutions to reduce the risks associated with those issues.
