Using the FMC File Upload System
The following table, Figure #1, has fields regarding
the uploading of the shipping contract. All fields for a document must be
filled in, allowing the complete, safe, and secure storage of the
document. Up to 10 documents may be filed per session. When all
fields are filled in, the Upload File button is clicked, the file
is transmitted to the FMC over a secure and encrypted path. Once the FMC
computer receives the filing you will obtain a confirmation on your computer
screen similar to the one seen in Figure #3.

Field definitions: (click on the link for full details)

Organization Number
- The code for the user's organization (from FMC)

Contract Number
- The contract number for this shipping contract (assigned by the user's
organization)

Amendment Number
- 0 for original filings, consecutive integer for amendments

Effective Date
- Date the shipping contract becomes effective, not sooner than upload date

Filename
- The file name of the contract. Must be acceptable format. The
'Browse' button is provided to easily locate the file for uploading.
Clicking on 'Browse' displays a tool similar to that in Figure #2.
By simply clicking on or highlighting the document that you want to upload to
the FMC and then clicking "open" will prepare that file for uploading.

Reset button - clears all of your entries to start over

Upload File button - sends the filing request to the FMC
system

Each contract that you file must have
an alphanumeric ID. All future amendments to this contract will use this

Amendment
Number

This number must be exactly 1 greater
than the last amendment filed on the system, or 0 for a first-time filing under
this organization/contract number |
Effective
Date |
This date must be in YYYYMMDD format
representing the effective date of the contract. This date is equal or
greater than the date this contract was uploaded. YYYY = 4-digit year, MM
= 2-digit month between 01 and 12 , and DD = 2-digit day of month between 01
and 31.

This alphanumeric
name does not include any preceding folder names but does include a valid
extension. For a list of valid extensions,

Use the 'Browse' button to browse your local disk for the file
name.
