	ESSM News The largest tornado outbreaks in the U.S. are producing more tornadoes, but scientists aren’t sure why Friday, January 06, 2017 NOAA Research-funded scientists have reported a sobering finding in Science regarding our Nation’s severe weather: the tornado outbreaks with the most tornadoes are spawning more tornadoes than ever before and are occurring more often. NYC could experience a twenty-fold increase in seasonal coastal flooding episodes by the end of the 21st century Thursday, January 05, 2017 A new NOAA Research-funded study warns that from 2054-2079, sea level rise could lead to a total of 165 flooding events compared to the 1979-2004 total of 7 flooding events in the Big Apple, and that major flood events may be 3 to 4 times more frequent.
