Welcome to J. Percy Priest Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District welcomes you to J. Percy Priest Lake.  The lake provides a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year.  Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, visitors have numerous activities to participate in including fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking, boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and more. Because of the lake's proximity to Nashville (15 minutes from downtown) lakeside recreation can fit nicely into your other vacation plans.

J. Percy Priest Lake belongs to you, so keep it clean and attractive.  

Enjoy your visit by staying safe on the water and in the recreation areas. Please remember that the buoys on the lake may move off station due to extreme weather, lake level fluctuations, or other unforeseen circumstances.  Boaters should use navigation maps and/or GPS in order to avoid potential hazards on the lake.

Hey fourth graders! See America’s natural wonders and historic sites for free.

As part of President Obama’s commitment to protect our nation’s unique outdoor spaces and ensure that every American has the opportunity to visit and enjoy them, the Every Kid in a Park initiative allows fourth graders nationwide to obtain a pass for free entry for them and their families to more than 2,000 federally managed lands and waters nationwide for an entire year from September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017. 

 

Every Kid in a Park invites children of all backgrounds to discover their public lands and all they offer, including opportunities to be active and spend time with friends and family. As living classrooms, these outdoor places and historic sites also provide hands-on, real-world opportunities to develop critical skills and learn about the natural world.

 

The swim areas at Anderson Road Day Use and Cook Recreation Area on J. Percy Priest Lake provide a waiver of the $5.00 per vehicle fee with a valid Every Kid in a Park pass.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks public comment on Proposed Rule for Use of USACE Reservoir Projects for Domestic, Municipal and Industrial Water Supply
WASHINGTON (Dec. 16, 2016) - The Department of the Army, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), today released and is seeking comment on a proposed rule to update and clarify its policies governing the use of USACE reservoir projects for domestic, municipal and industrial water supply pursuant to Section 6 of the Flood Control Act of 1944, 33 U.S.C. § 708 (Section 6), and the Water Supply Act of 1958, 43 U.S.C. § 390b (WSA).
