Office of Information and Technology

Who Are We?

The Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) provides adaptable, secure, and cost-effective technology services across the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We manage all of VA’s IT assets and resources, and we deliver technology and expertise to support Veterans and their families everyday.

OI&T is on call 24/7 to support VA’s 1 million technology devices, from printers and conference lines, to laptops, medical devices, servers, and leading-edge technologies that connect Veterans to care. We are a team of 8,000 employees (56 percent of whom are Veterans) and 8,000 contractors across the country, and our engineering, data centers, and field operations service 2,000 locations worldwide.

Safeguarding Veterans’ personal information is of paramount importance. Veterans entrust us with their personal information whenever they interact with VA. OI&T guards the privacy and data of 33 million Veterans, and today’s cyber environment introduces threats and vulnerabilities that require constant vigilance. All of our efforts, projects, and programs bear this in mind.

We keep Veterans at the core of everything we do.
