How often depends on your age

TRICARE covers:

  • For Infants
    • Head circumference should be measured through 24 months.
  • For Children and Adolescents 
    • Height and weight should be measured at each primary care visit. Body mass index (BMI) is measured using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention BMI Charts. Those with a BMI greater than the 85th percentile typically receive nutritional and physical activity counseling as part of the primary care visit.
  • For Adults
    • Height and weight should be measured at each primary care visit. Adults with a BMI of 25 or above typically receive nutritional and physical activity counseling as part of the primary care visit.
