Aquaculture in the Southeast Region

As the nation's oceans agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) takes a thorough approach to sustainable aquaculture that will create employment and business opportunities in coastal communities; provide safe, sustainable seafood; and complement the agency's comprehensive strategy for maintaining healthy and productive marine populations, species, and ecosystems and vibrant coastal communities.

Gulf of Mexico Aquaculture Permit (GAP) 

NMFS published the final rule for the Fishery Management Plan for Regulating Offshore Marine Aquaculture in the Gulf of Mexico on January 11, 2016.  Click here for more information about the final rule and the permitting process.
