PNT logo The National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Advisory Board provides independent advice to the U.S. government on GPS-related policy, planning, program management, and funding profiles in relation to the current state of national and international satellite navigation services.

The Advisory Board consists of GPS experts from outside the U.S. government.

Currently, there are 25 members representing U.S. industry, academia, and international organizations.

The Chair of the Advisory Board is Mr. John Stenbit.

The Advisory Board receives study topics and other tasks from the National Executive Committee to guide its work.

The Advisory Board is one of three national PNT organizations established under a 2004 presidential policy directive.

NASA sponsors the Advisory Board on behalf of the National Executive Committee for Space-Based PNT. Advisory Board members are nominated by the agencies of the National Executive Committee and appointed by the NASA Administrator.
