Wastewater Operator Resources
A wastewater operator is defined in the Idaho Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals Act (Idaho Code §54-24) as "any person who operates public wastewater systems, or public wastewater treatment plants or other systems, in order to remove harmful pollutants from domestic and industrial liquid waste so that it is safe to return to the environment, and who holds a current Idaho wastewater system operator license." The law requires wastewater operators to be licensed by the Board of Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals to operate, offer to operate, be in responsible charge of, or to otherwise serve as operating personnel at any public wastewater system.
