The primary goals of the Habitat Economics Program are to:
- Assess the benefits and costs of habitat recovery and restoration programs
- Quantify the cumulative effects (measured in dollars) of habitat degradation and habitat loss
- Develop inventories of the values associated with a particular types of habitat, including the scope and scale of the ecosystems services provided by a habitat
